I. Police
a. Chief Korte informed us he is still awaiting the test results for Officer Terhar state test,
b. Kevin Akers was chosen as the Police Officer of the Year
II. Fire
• FF Long Update
Chief Hauck informed the committee Firefighter Long workers comp claim may possibly be approved as a re-aggravation
• Fire Fighter Ferris was chosen as Fire Fighter of the Year
• 2012 Federal Grant
Chief Hauck informed the committee that the department applied for a grant to fund self contained breathing apparatus. The grant is for $160,000 to replace 18 back pack sets, extra bottles for all fire fighters. The total replacement costs are $218,000 which is not in his budget. If this goes through it would replace equipment that was purchased in 1997 with 2012 compliant equipment.
• FH Cloud
Chief Hauck informed the committee the new software to allow the cloud system to work has been uploaded and the department is using December 2012 as a trial basis and will go live January 1, 2013
III. Recreation
a. Dave Nichols reported that there will be a part-time hiring ordinance on for December to hire all permanent part-time employees for 2013
b. Second the Recreation Commission passed a motion to close the recreation facility at 9:30 pm starting January 2, 2013
